The islet

What means to live on an island?

I know that for many people it must be unthinkable to live on an island, to be surrounded by sea, the feeling of isolation, but for me, I think it is all a matter of habit. For me, islander, I love the feeling of being around the island and, in most situations, I can see the sea, feel that I am part of that "bit" of land in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

On the other hand, the first time I traveled to the center of Europe, I felt precisely that feeling of strangeness, of those who look at the horizon and only see buildings or landscape without having the sea around ... it was really strange! For example, I feel a bit like a person from the interior of a country that then arrives on an island and feels it is "stuck" ... in my case, I felt the lack of the immense sea that "isolates" us.

All this, to introduce this photograph that I adore, precisely on one of the roads where we always see the sea, practically for almost 30 kilometers.

In the photograph, the islet of the Mosteiros, Mosteiros village, where you can see 3 more cliffs by the coast.

Down below is a small beach, with a direct view of those cliffs.
